Acceptance or Refusal of Donations

Central to Pocket Wilding’s work is a commitment to help restore the health of the planet, its people, and the ecosystem we all share. We believe that we can best serve our mission when we have a diverse funding base, which includes support from appropriate corporations.

We will only accept donations from companies that meet the following criteria:

  • Support Pocket Wilding’s mission
  • Not connected to fossil fuels, mining, or any active extractive industry or a recognised polluter or destroyer of the environment
  • Not a repeated violator of environmental laws
  • Not engaged in the production or sale of products which, in their manufacture, use, or disposal create serious, negative environmental impact
  • Not a manufacturer of arms
  • Not connected to the pornography or tobacco industry
  • Does not have a negative track record of Human rights
  • Not connected to GMOs

While our focus is to ensure our partners are as committed as we are to the environment we want to ensure that we only associate ourselves with ethical businesses.

However, Pocket Wilding will not decline funding from an individual or organisation on the basis that they may have obtained some of their income from the carbon economy (for example via donations those bodies have received, via individual employment, or via share portfolios). Due to the reliance on fossil fuels, at some point most assets have been intermingled with fossil fuel (and other) profits. It is not feasible or practical for Pocket Wilding to try and ascertain how individuals or organisations (other than commercial companies) have derived their assets. We will always question the integrity of the reason for the donation and if it would in any way compromise the work of Pocket Wilding. If it is found to be in accordance with our values, the funding may be accepted.

If a company has historically not met the above criteria, in terms of business endeavours/ behaviours but has legitimately changed direction and wants to start doing good for the world and can prove it – then we may accept money from them.

Acceptance of a donation is not defending how people make their money and is not an endorsement of a donor or their source of money. Donors to do no have the right to use our name or logo without permission.

Should we find out a donor is in conflict with our ethos we will no longer accept donations.
